Missy (or Valerie, as she goes by in court) comes from a long-time Kirkwood family, the Shands clan. She is a lifelong Kirkwood resident who graduated from Kirkwood High School in 2007 and recently bought her first house in Kirkwood near North Middle School.
About half of Missy’s work involves estate planning and business law, but she also handles real estate, guardianships, civil litigation, and minor criminal law matters, as well.
Missy is rarely without her office dog, Tort. Tort is a very friendly and calm standard poodle who is a certified Therapy Dog trained to assist clients. Tort is hypoallergenic, so even those with mild dog allergies can interact with him safely. Follow their adventures around town on the firm’s Facebook page.
